WHAT TO EXPECT
ON SUNDAYS

A Family Atmosphere

On Sunday mornings at CCC you will find a family of believers of all ages. We are a multi-generational church that strives to love and serve one another as a family of brothers and sisters, and even fathers and mothers in Christ (1 Tim. 5:1-2). We seek to be involved in one another's lives, to care for one another, serve one another, encourage one another in the Lord, and bear one another's burdens.

Biblical Preaching

Most Sundays we are preaching straight through books or sections of the Bible. We believe the Lord knows what His people need better than we do so we seek to let Him speak to us verse-by-verse and chapter-by-chapter in His Word. God's Word is the star of the show at CCC, not the words of the preacher. We are committed to the truth as we find it in the Bible and we refuse to compromise or be driven by cultural trends. You can find past sermons at the link below.

Worship for All

Sundays at CCC you will likely hear some worship songs you like and some that might not be your favorite. Our worship style is not catered to any particular age group or demographic. We have one service in one style for everyone. We have a mix of new songs and older hymns. Some are upbeat and others are more subdued and reverent in tone. Some are rich in theology and others are simple. All are singable. Instead of catering to the preferences of a certain group, we all sacrifice our preferences for the good of the whole. And the most important sound is not the instruments or voices coming from the stage, but the voices of the congregation.

Devotion to Prayer

At Columbia Christian, prayer is not merely for openings, closings, and transitions. Prayer is our dependence upon God in action. Each Sunday we open with a pastoral prayer and after every sermon we have a time dedicated to responding to God's Word in prayer. We also have a prayer service each Lord's Day evening at 6:30 PM. We need God despertately, and we never want to forget that.

Weekly Communion

Every Sunday we observe the Lord's Supper together as a body of believers. We believe this is an extremely important part of our worship service and a special sensory memorial to focus our minds on the death of our Lord and Savior Jesus (1 Cor. 11:23-26). While weekly observance is not commanded in Scripture, we believe it was the practice of the early church, but also, why would we want to do something so important less often than things like preaching or singing?

Plan a Visit!

Our worship service begins at 10 am Central time. We also have Sunday School classes for all ages at 9 am. You can visit our Facebook page at the link below to watch a previous livestream and get a feel for what our services are like. We'd love for you to come seek the Lord with us!
